INTRO From Café Granja La Esperanza's La Esperanza farm in Trujillo, Valle del Cauca — a bold, tropical natural showcasing the estate's visionary hybridisation work. Sapodilla sweetness and cacao nib depth sit alongside a green grape brightness, shaped by the farm's unique microclimate. In the cup: sapodilla, cacao nibs, and green grape.

THE PRODUCER Café Granja La Esperanza began in 1945 with Potosí farm in Valle del Cauca, originally focused on Yellow Bourbon, Red Bourbon, and Caturra. Driven by a sustainable development orientation and a willingness to innovate, the operation has expanded into organic specialty coffee across successive farms, including La Esperanza — where varietal experimentation like Mandela reflects the estate's ongoing commitment to pushing what Colombian coffee can be.

THE PROCESS This lot is processed as a Natural — cherries are dried whole, allowing the fruit to impart its character directly into the bean. Paired with La Esperanza's warm, humid microclimate, this approach builds the bold, tropical sapodilla and cacao nib depth that define this cup.

THE CUP Bold and tropical — sapodilla sweetness up front, cacao nib depth through the middle, and a green grape brightness on the finish. A striking result of hybridisation and meticulous natural processing at La Esperanza.
