Description

The Knodos Blind Shaker is designed to declump and distribute ground coffee before tamping. Its magnetic base holds the shaker on the portafilter during use.

Sizes and compatibility

58mm: for E61, Gaggia, Sage Dual Boiler and Oracle machines, among others.
54mm and 51mm: a 2-in-1 shaker with separate rims for 54mm and 51mm portafilters.

How to use

Add freshly ground coffee and fit the lid.
Shake to distribute the grounds.
Place the magnetic base on the portafilter.
Remove the lid, then remove and twist the bell to distribute the grounds across the basket.
Finish with WDT if required, then tamp.

Distribution approach

Shaking is intended to reduce clumps that can create dense areas and uneven water flow. The exit shape and bell release create a centre mound, placing more coffee toward the centre of the puck. Shaking is also intended to reduce the effect of fines by forcing them into pores in the larger grounds.
