INTRO
The fifteenth chapter of The Naughty Dog's beloved Unicorn Blend series — a sweet, higher-acidity filter coffee built on two contrasting origins and two contrasting processes. Ombligon natural from El Diviso in Colombia brings rich fruit sweetness and body; washed Heirloom from Taferi Kela in Ethiopia brings freshness, clarity, and lift. Together they deliver something joyful and layered. In the cup: cherry Maoam, vanilla ice cream, and milk chocolate.
THE COMPONENTS
The blend draws on two distinct origins and two contrasting processing philosophies. From El Diviso in Colombia, a naturally processed Ombligon — a variety closely related to the Ethiopian Landrace group, prized for its syrupy sweetness and vivid candy-like fruit character. From Taferi Kela in Sidamo, Ethiopia, a traditionally washed Heirloom lot — processed to emphasise clarity, freshness, and the natural floral nuances for which Ethiopian coffee is celebrated.
The Ombligon natural grounds the cup with rich cherry and confectionary sweetness while the washed Ethiopian lifts it with brightness and acidity — a deliberate contrast that produces the higher acidity and sweet, creamy complexity that define this blend.
