INTRO An annual favourite from Dan and the team at Migoti — a washed Burundi consistently among the best coffees to hit the roastery. THE PRODUCER Migoti Coffee was founded in 2015 by Dan Brose and Pontien Ntunzwenimana to uplift smallholder farmers around Bujumbura Province, an area whose infrastructure had suffered neglect and deterioration following Burundi's 12-year civil war (1993–2005). The two engineers built processing infrastructure to service nearly 4,000 surrounding farmers, starting with the Migoti Coffee Washing Station. Beyond processing and selling coffee, they've worked to uplift the community through education on sustainable farming practices, helping their washing stations produce some of the most sought-after coffee from Burundi over the past decade.

THE PROCESS This lot is Washed, a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying — allowing Red Bourbon's naturally clean, versatile character to come through, building the token citric red apple acidity and lingering brown sugar sweetness that define this cup.
