Farm: Misiones Estate Coffee, El Colegio Colombia

Tucked between mist-covered mountains two hours south of Bogotá, Misiones Coffee Farm carries a legacy that spans more than a century. Established over 100 years ago, the farm was once a major regional exporter — producing over 600 tons of coffee annually, with hundreds of mules transporting parchment to river ports along the Magdalena. From there, Misiones coffee made its way to Germany, England, and the United States, helping define Colombia’s early reputation on the world stage.

Today, Misiones remains one of the few Colombian farms to preserve its original Scottish-built machinery, imported from Glasgow in the early 20th century. These historic systems have been carefully restored and now serve as a working museum — a place where coffee professionals and enthusiasts alike can experience the intersection of tradition, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Flavour Notes: Jasmine, Bergamot, Green Apple, Green Tea

What is the roast recency?

We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
