ABOUT THE PRODUCER
The Hartmann Family are true pioneers of specialty coffee in Panama. Founded by Ratibor Hartmann in 1940, Finca Hartmann has been passed down through three generations and remains one of the country’s most respected family-run estates.
Nestled in the lush forests of Santa Clara, Renacimiento, near the Parque Nacional de La Amistad, the farm spans almost 100 hectares of protected forest reserves. Coffee is grown between 1300 and 2000 meters under a dense canopy of native trees that support rich biodiversity.
The family’s philosophy is rooted in sustainability and harmony with nature—they rarely cut trees, instead replanting native species and plantains to maintain a healthy ecosystem.
Beyond preserving tradition, the Hartmanns are also known for their spirit of innovation. They continuously experiment with new processing methods and rare varieties, like this Red Maragogipe, to meet the evolving curiosity of specialty coffee drinkers.
Every member of the Hartmann family plays an essential role in farm operations—from cultivation and processing to ecotourism—making Finca Hartmann not just a farm, but a living legacy of passion, precision, and environmental stewardship.
IN THE CUP

Expect a layered experience—prune and coffee cherry richness meets dried tropical fruit and sweet herbs, all carried by a smooth, lingering finish that embodies the Hartmann family’s craftsmanship and terroir.
