Jhoan Vergara — Washed Gesha
Native's newest Hyper Limited release highlights a pristine, floral expression of washed Gesha from one of Colombia’s most innovative and celebrated producers: Jhoan Vergara of Finca Las Flores.
THE PRODUCER
Jhoan Vergara—along with his family—is part of the next generation redefining coffee quality in Huila. At Finca Las Flores, Jhoan has become known for his meticulous processing, experimental fermentations, and the remarkable clarity and elegance he draws from each variety he cultivates.
His Gesha lots, in particular, stand out for their purity, structure, and unmistakable florality.
THE PROCESS — WASHED
This lot follows a clean, controlled washed process, designed to showcase the varietal character of Gesha without distraction. Ripe cherries are selectively harvested, depulped, and fermented in a careful, temperature-balanced environment to preserve delicate aromatics.
Drying is slow and steady, locking in the bright, tea-like nuance Gesha is prized for.
The result is a cup that is pure, lifted, and elegant.
THE CUP
A beautifully clean Gesha with shimmering florals and citrus-driven structure.
Expect white flowers, mandarin brightness, and a white tea delicacy, all tied together by a crisp, citric finish.
This is Gesha at its most graceful—light, aromatic, and refined.

What is the roast recency?
Native recommend brewing with beans that are at least two to three weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 6-9 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12 - should we have any left in stock!). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
Filter or Espresso? Both!
All of Native's coffees are profiled to be as fantastic in filter as they are in espresso.
