About the Coffee

This exquisite Green Tip Gesha from Janson Coffee’s Los Alpes farm exemplifies the hallmark precision and elegance that have made the Janson family one of Panama’s most respected coffee producers.

Nestled at 1,700 meters on the slopes of Volcán Barú, the Los Alpes plot benefits from cool nights, mineral-rich volcanic soil, and steady mountain breezes — conditions that allow the Gesha cherries to develop their delicate floral complexity and bright, balanced acidity.

For this lot, the cherries were fermented anaerobically for 72 hours, enhancing aromatic intensity and depth before being washed and sun-dried for 7 days. The result is a coffee that captures both the clarity of Janson’s meticulous washed process and the expressive fruit character of anaerobic fermentation.

In the Cup

A refined and luminous Gesha with a silky, weightless body and elegant progression of flavors.

It opens with floral and perfume-like aromatics, unfolding into layers of fresh raspberry and juicy white peach. Beneath the fruit, a green tea note lends sophistication — a subtle signature often found in Janson’s finest lots.

Balanced, complex, and endlessly graceful, this cup lingers with medium acidity and a sweet, polished finish, representing the pinnacle of the Janson family’s craftsmanship and terroir expression.

We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
