ABOUT THE COFFEE
This Yemenia peaberry nano-lot comes from Hayma Kharijiya, one of Yemen’s most historic and high-altitude coffee-growing regions. It represents the pinnacle of precision processing and genetic rarity — part of Qima Coffee’s Farmer Series, where traceability extends to each individual farmer and the coffee is handled with extraordinary care.
Cherries are hand-picked at perfect ripeness and immediately transported from the farm gate to Qima’s state-of-the-art drying facilities. Here, they are sun-dried on raised beds for 15–25 days, closely monitored for BRIX, density, and moisture content to ensure clean and even drying. This combination of traditional natural processing and modern scientific precision results in a coffee that retains Yemen’s signature depth while achieving remarkable cleanliness and balance.
THE VARIETY
The Yemenia variety is a genetically distinct mother population of Arabica, discovered in Yemen and found nowhere else in the world. Its discovery redefined our understanding of Arabica’s diversity — and its flavor potential is extraordinary. Representing only a tiny fraction of Yemen’s coffee production, Yemenia peaberries are even rarer, comprising just 5–10% of total harvests.
THE CUP
Elegant, sweet, and vibrant, this Yemenia peaberry expresses violet florals intertwined with juicy blueberry tones and a crisp, citric brightness. The cup is beautifully structured — deeply sweet yet incredibly refined — and finishes with a clean, long, perfumed sweetness.
A rare and exquisite expression of Yemen’s terroir and genetic heritage — floral, complex, and unforgettable.
AMOC Coffees are beautifully displayed and delivered in a lightweight, fully recyclable PET jar. This jar can be reused as you wish!
What is the roast recency?
We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
