Native's fifth Hyper Limited release comes from none other than Sebastián Ramírez of El Placer, one of Colombia’s most innovative and sought-after producers. Sebastián has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries of fermentation, and this lot—an extended-fermentation natural Wush Wush—is one of his boldest and most expressive creations to date.
THE PRODUCER
Sebastián Ramírez is a fourth-generation coffee grower based in Quindío, Colombia. His farm, El Placer, has become a center of experimentation where Sebastián explores advanced fermentation techniques, co-fermentation protocols, long-cycle naturals, and controlled yeast cultures. Each harvest expresses a new chapter in his pursuit of high-impact, high-precision coffee processing. This Wush Wush lot exemplifies his mastery—intense, aromatic, tropical, and unmistakably Sebastián.
THE PROCESS — EXTENDED FERMENTATION NATURAL
Wush Wush cherries are selectively hand-harvested at peak ripeness, then sealed into controlled anaerobic tanks for an extended fermentation cycle. This long fermentation develops deep tropical complexity, funky fruit tones, layered acidity, and an unmistakable aromatic lift.
After fermentation, cherries are slow-dried under shade to preserve delicate volatiles and stabilize the fruit intensity. The result is a cup that is explosive, expressive, and unapologetically wild.

What is the roast recency?
Native recommend brewing with beans that are at least two to three weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 6-9 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12 - should we have any left in stock!). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
Filter or Espresso? Both!
