INTRO From Mark Bolliger Neumann's Finca Rosenheim, just 2km from Villa Rica in Peru's Selva Central — a classically balanced Typica and Caturra that captures the region's terroir. Milk chocolate and nougat sweetness sit alongside a lifted purple floral note, the result of a legacy of sustainable stewardship on this estate. In the cup: milk chocolate, nougat, and purple floral.
THE PRODUCER Finca Rosenheim is a large coffee estate hidden within the primeval forest of the fertile Selva Central, surrounded by landscapes unique to the region. Spanning up to 40 hectares at over 1,600 masl, the estate is known for producing distinctive coffees across several varieties, including Gesha, Catimor, Caturra, and Typica.
THE PROCESS This lot is Washed, a classic method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying — an approach that lets Typica and Caturra's naturally balanced, sweet character come through, building the milk chocolate and nougat notes that define this cup.
THE CUP Classically balanced — milk chocolate and nougat sweetness up front, with a purple floral note lifting through the finish. A clean, terroir-driven expression of Peru's Selva Central.
