Ring in the new year with a cup that feels like a celebration. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026 is The Naughty Dog’s festive omni roast—playful, bright, and irresistibly clean. Designed to shine both as filter and espresso, this limited-edition blend captures the sparkle of a midnight toast and the comfort of slow mornings that follow.

The Producers

The backbone of this blend is a washed Colombian coffee from Finca Las Flores, produced by Jhoan Vergara in Huila. Known for precision and clarity, Jhoan’s coffees bring structure, citrus freshness, and elegance to the cup.

Balancing that vibrancy is a honey-processed Ethiopian coffee from the Lalesa processing station, operated by Ephtah Specialty Coffee. This component adds roundness, juicy tropical character, and subtle florality—softening the edges and enhancing sweetness.

The Process

This blend unites two complementary approaches to processing:
  • Washed Colombia delivers cleanliness, brightness, and a crisp citrus line.

  • Honey Ethiopia contributes body, caramel sweetness, and gentle fruit depth.

Together, they create a dynamic yet harmonious profile that adapts beautifully across brew methods.

In the Cup

The first sip is lively and refreshing, with a sparkling acidity reminiscent of an Aperol Spritz. Bright, star-like notes of carambola follow, before the cup settles into a smooth caramel sweetness accented by light, warming spices.

On filter, the blend emphasizes freshness and fruit-driven clarity. On espresso, it leans into sweetness, body, and gentle spice. Festive yet refined, this is a coffee made for celebrations—big or small—and a joyful way to begin the year ahead. ✨☕

What is the roast recency?

We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 6-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12 - should we have any left in stock!). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
