IN THE CUP

This Pink Bourbon from Finca Tamaná is as refreshing as it is refined. The cup opens with bright grapefruit acidity and a sparkling lemonade sweetness, complemented by floral aromatics that lift the entire profile. As it cools, a subtle almond-like roundness emerges, lending balance and a silky texture to the finish.

A classic representation of the Pink Bourbon variety—crisp, floral, and sweet—this lot is perfect for filter brewing and offers both vibrancy and depth in equal measure.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Elías Roa Parra is one of Huila’s most respected producers and a name synonymous with quality and consistency in Colombian coffee. Originally from Acevedo, Elías still maintains farms there, but his work at Finca Tamaná, in El Pital, has become his crowning achievement.

At Tamaná, Elías has refined every detail of his production—from precise fermentation control to careful drying—and expanded his plantings to include heirloom and African varieties alongside Colombian cultivars. The farm spans 54 hectares, with 40 currently under coffee production, sitting between 1,650 and 1,750 MASL.

During harvest, Elías employs up to 60 skilled pickers from neighbouring regions, ensuring only the ripest cherries are selected. His commitment to quality and innovation has made Finca Tamaná one of Colombia’s benchmark farms for exceptional washed coffees.

WHY WE LOVE IT

This is September's first time working with Elías Roa, and they couldn’t be more excited. His Pink Bourbon captures everything September loves about the variety—vivid acidity, citrus sweetness, and elegant florals—all supported by Elías’s trademark precision and care.

A beautifully structured washed coffee that’s as bright and pure as a glass of homemade lemonade.

What is the roast recency?

September doesn't generally advertise a roast preference to Filter or Espresso, however, this is an exception and this particular bag is best enjoyed as espresso!

We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
