Description
AUROMAR GESHA — CANDELA, CHIRIQUÍ, PANAMA
THE CUP
Refined, floral, and tea-like - this washed Gesha from Finca Auromar is everything we love about Panama’s high-mountain coffees. The cup opens with juicy clementine, unfolds into pure jasmine and white florals, and finishes on a lingering sweet citrus reminiscent of Meyer lemon. Clean, balanced, and deeply expressive.

THE FARM
Nestled in the misty highlands of Candela, Chiriquí, Finca Auromar is one of Panama’s most celebrated estates. Founded in 2006 by Roberto Brenes, the farm was built on a vision of harmony between exceptional coffee and environmental stewardship. Over the years, that philosophy has been richly rewarded — Auromar has earned first place at the Best of Panama multiple times (2013, 2016, and 2022), cementing its reputation as one of the world’s premier Gesha producers.
Of its 30 hectares, half remain untouched forest, preserving native biodiversity and stabilizing the mountain ecosystem. The remaining area is planted with Gesha and other select varieties, all grown under dense shade from native trees and high-altitude avocado trees! This natural cover slows cherry maturation, deepens sweetness, and protects the vibrant aromatics that define Auromar’s cup profile.
WHY WE LOVE IT
A masterclass in elegance. This Auromar Gesha captures Panama’s unique terroir and Roberto’s commitment to both craft and conservation. It’s a floral, tea-like symphony - jasmine, clementine, and Meyer lemon in perfect balance.
Flavour Notes: Jasmine, Lemon, Mandarin, White Tea
We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
