MEET MAXIMILIANO GARCÍA
This marks September’s second release from Maximiliano García — and the first time showcasing his Geisha. It’s a beautifully refined example of the variety, with delicate jasmine florals, light body, and a honey-like sweetness that defines the experience from start to finish.

In the cup: a clean, elegant profile. Honey sweetness, lifted by soft floral aromatics and a balanced citric acidity reminiscent of lemon-lime. The finish is crisp and clear, with just enough weight to leave an impression.

This lot is carefully handpicked and sorted to remove any defects before depulping. Cherries are fermented in tanks for 24–48 hours, then washed and dried on raised beds for 15–30 days, weather depending.

Maximiliano is a first-generation coffee producer working with his wife, Esperanza, in El Huabo, San Ignacio. Before purchasing his own land, he worked as a day labourer on other farms - saving until he could build something of his own. Today, he and Esperanza continue to learn, invest, and improve season after season, producing coffees that are as precise as they are expressive. A standout example of the potential in northern Peru.

Flavour Notes: Sweet Honey, Jasmine, Lemon-Lime

What is the roast recency?

September doesn't generally advertise a roast preference to Filter or Espresso, however, this is an exception and this particular bag is best enjoyed as espresso!

We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
