INTRO A fresh December 2025 harvest from Karimikui farm in Kirinyaga, one of the most renowned areas for high-quality Kenyan coffee. Higher acidity brings sweet lime and juicy red and black currants forward, rounded out by a black tea finish. In the cup: black tea, black currant, redcurrant, and sweet lime.
THE PRODUCER Karimikui farm sits in Kirinyaga at 1,600–1,900 masl, ideal conditions for slow cherry ripening and complex flavour development. The lot is composed of SL28, SL34, Batian, and Ruiru 11 — varieties characteristic of Kenyan coffee for their juiciness, bright acidity, and fruity character.
THE PROCESS This lot is Washed: cherries are pulped, fermented, then thoroughly washed to bring out subtle flavour nuances. This process is what lets the sweet lime, juicy currant, and elegant tea notes come through so clearly in the cup.
THE CUP Bright and juicy — sweet lime and red and black currant fruitiness up front, with a pleasantly long, black tea finish. A clean, distinctive cup reflecting Kirinyaga's classic conditions.
