INTRO Finca El Destino is an exceptional farm in Boquete, Panama, deep in the lush mountains of Chiriquí. Founded by Benito Bermúdez and Mario Castrellón — two emblematic figures in Panama's culinary and coffee scenes — the farm has set out to produce exceptional coffees through a modern, sustainable, innovation-driven approach. Fine candied lemon notes meet peach sweetness and an elegant oolong tea florality. In the cup: candied lemon, peach, and oolong tea.

THE PRODUCER Finca El Destino stands among the new wave of Panamanian farms reshaping the codes of specialty coffee. Its sought-after, award-winning lots reflect its founders' ambition perfectly: to produce rare, refined coffees deeply marked by their terroir.

THE PROCESS This lot is processed as a Washed coffee — a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying, revealing a cup that is both complex and delicate, marked by fine candied lemon notes, a sweetness recalling peach, and an elegant oolong tea florality.

THE CUP Complex and delicate — fine candied lemon notes lead, with a peach-like sweetness and an elegant oolong tea florality, offering a subtle, harmonious sensory experience. Medium acidity and a delicate body round out this light-roast filter coffee.

About this variety

Coffees reported as Gesha or Geisha are often prized for a delicate, tea-like cup with lifted floral aromas and bright fruit. Jasmine, bergamot and peach are common reference points, but each lot can express them differently.

Why this one is different
  • Panama
  • Boquete
  • Washed

Panamanian Geisha, especially well-traced T2722 grown at high altitude, is the classic reference for a very delicate, jasmine-led and peach-like cup.

Washed processing can make acidity and variety character easier to read, although fermentation and drying choices still matter.

Why the Gesha / Geisha name matters

Gesha and Geisha are interchangeable spellings, not proof of different varieties. The best-documented Panamanian Geisha descends from Ethiopian material recorded as T2722, while other coffees carrying either spelling may not be genetically identical.

Classification Reported Gesha / Geisha

Technical lineage The reported name alone does not establish one genetic lineage. Confirmed Panamanian T2722 traces to Ethiopian landrace material.

Variety is a guide, not a flavour guarantee. Lot notes are more specific.
