INTRO
Selected for its balance of delicate florals, expressive stone fruit, and gentle caramel sweetness, a refined filter coffee with clear flavours, lively acidity, and a finish that keeps unfolding as the cup cools. In the cup: jasmine, nectarine, yellow peach, cherry, caramel, and cocoa.
THE PRODUCER
Abbraccio, Italian for "embrace," is a collaborative project through which the Altieri family works with neighbouring producers in Panama, bringing local knowledge and individual approaches to cultivation together with Altieri Coffee's experience in processing, selection, and quality. The project puts relationships at the centre of the coffee, recognising the producers behind each release and creating opportunities to share knowledge. Altieri Coffee is based in the highlands of Boquete, in Panama's Chiriquí region. This release represents the Abbraccio project rather than a named individual estate, with its identity rooted in the people, growing conditions, and coffee traditions of the region.
Pacamara is known for its large beans, aromatic complexity, and generous texture.
THE PROCESS
This lot is Washed: the outer fruit and mucilage are removed before drying. The approach lets the variety's floral character, fruit, and sweetness come through clearly, supporting a cup with both delicacy and depth.
THE CUP
White florals and jasmine introduce the cup, followed by sweet citrus and ripe nectarine. As it cools, yellow peach and cherry become more expressive, supported by a gentle caramel sweetness. Vibrant, composed acidity with a silky, almost tea-like texture, and subtle cocoa and marzipan adding depth to a long finish where fruit and florals linger.
