INTRO Last August, Prolog's Błażej and Stefan visited Jheison López and his family for the first time — one of three exciting lots from that trip. This blend of Colombia, Castillo, and Caturra varieties was produced using a traditional honey process, delivering a sweet, full-bodied, complex cup. Red berries lead, with a creamy, candy-like sweetness throughout. In the cup: red berries, creamy, and candy-like.
THE PRODUCER Jheison López continues his family's coffee-growing tradition in Nariño, managing both cultivation and processing himself with a strong focus on quality — one of the standout relationships to come out of Prolog's most recent visit to the region.
THE PROCESS This lot uses a traditional Honey process — cherries are depulped without water, then dried on raised beds for 12–15 days.
The waterless depulping combined with the 12–15 day drying window is the defining step — it's what builds the sweet, full-bodied, candy-like character that defines this cup.
THE CUP Sweet, full-bodied, and complex — red berry notes throughout, with a creamy texture and a candy-like sweetness that lingers. A warm showcase of Jheison's careful cultivation and processing work.
