INTRO Possibly the final new-crop Kenya of the season, and it's really standing out. Unusual for Kenya, this is a single-estate AA lot rather than the usual large co-op coffee, and it's also a classic SL-28 & SL-34 separation — rare to see distinguished this way. Super ripe blackberry and cranberry lead, with that signature Kenyan "big" quality throughout. In the cup: blackberry, cranberry, and ripe fruit intensity.

THE PRODUCER Kivanga Estate is managed by Morris Njagi, spanning 75 hectares at 1,750 meters elevation. The estate operates its own washing station, processing its own coffee entirely in-house — a notable departure from the large co-op model that dominates most of Kenya's coffee production.

THE PROCESS Cherries were picked at peak ripeness, sorted, floated, and pulped. The coffee then aerobically fermented in open tanks, followed by washing and 14–21 days of drying on raised beds.

The single-estate, self-managed processing is the defining detail here — it's what allows for the rare SL-28/SL-34 separation and the super-ripe blackberry and cranberry intensity that define this cup.

THE CUP Super ripe and big — blackberry and cranberry intensity throughout, carrying that signature Kenyan boldness. A rare single-estate expression that means business.
