INTRO From the Wete Konga washing station, owned by Wete Ambela Coffee Export PLC in the Wete Kebele of Konga Woreda, Yirgacheffe — floral aromatics lead, with lemon brightness and apricot sweetness rounding out the cup. In the cup: floral, lemon, and apricot.

THE PRODUCER This coffee is processed at a washing station owned by Wete Ambela Coffee Export PLC, located in the Wete Kebele of Konga Woreda, Yirgacheffe Zone, at 2,050 masl. The station produces around 54 tons of coffee per year, with cherries grown on adjacent farms at altitudes of 2,050–2,200 masl, where local farmers cultivate heirloom varieties.

THE PROCESS Cherries are handpicked, then pulped to remove the mucilage. The beans are soaked for 48 hours and dried on African beds for 18 to 21 days.

The 48-hour soak following pulping is the defining step — it's what builds the clean floral and lemon brightness that define this cup, while the extended 18-21 day drying develops the apricot sweetness underneath.

THE CUP Bright and floral — floral aromatics lead the cup, with lemon acidity through the middle and an apricot sweetness on the finish.
