INTRO From Hacienda La Esmeralda, one of the most iconic coffee estates in the world and the farm widely credited with bringing Panama Geisha to international attention. Lino, a specific lot on the Cañas Verdes Farm, sits on the slopes of Volcán Barú, where a cool climate and distinctive dry season build balanced sweetness, structured acidity, and vibrant fruit character. THE PRODUCER Hacienda La Esmeralda needs little introduction. Since the rediscovery of Geisha's remarkable cup profile in 2004, the Peterson family has continued refining their approach to cultivation and lot separation across their farms. Cañas Verdes, at around 1,700 masl on the slopes of Volcán Barú, is one such distinct site, known for producing Geisha with a particularly balanced, structured profile.
THE PROCESS This coffee is processed using the Washed method, allowing Geisha's distinctive floral character to shine with clarity and precision — removing the fruit before fermentation and drying to preserve the variety's naturally delicate structure.
