INTRO An early-season Kenya from one of the season's favourite factories — big acidic complexity, classic tartaric character, and a fair amount of florality woven through. Raspberry lemonade and concord grape lead, with a rose hips brightness underneath. In the cup: raspberry lemonade, concord grape, and rose hips.
THE PRODUCER This lot is delivered through Karani Factory in Kirinyaga, Kenya, processing cherry from multiple smallholder farmers in the surrounding area, sourced through exporting partner Falcon Coffees.
THE PROCESS This lot is Washed, a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying — letting SL-28's naturally bright, tartaric acidity come through clearly, building the raspberry lemonade and concord grape character that define this cup.
THE CUP Vibrant and tart — raspberry lemonade and concord grape up front, with a floral rose hips finish. Juicy sweetness and tartaric acidity make this a classic, lively Kenya.
