INTRO
A pure, classic washed Gesha, chosen for its remarkable aromatic profile. The cup is exceptionally clean, abundantly floral, and complex. In the cup: floral bouquet, lychee, blueberry, bergamot, and sencha.

THE PRODUCER
There's something wonderfully wild about Los Lajones, and Graciano Cruz has a distinctive approach to farming. At Los Lajones the surrounding ecosystem is a fundamental part of the process: microbial life is welcomed, and its complex interactions help shape Graciano's coffees. Bambu is the highest plot on the farm, where he grows his most special lots. It is naturally cool, shaded, and swept by Pacific winds.

THE PROCESS
This lot is Washed, a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying. The coffee dries on raised bamboo beds, exposed to the mountain air and its natural conditions. The page doesn't give further steps.

The raised bamboo-bed drying in the cool, windy Bambu plot is the defining feature. It's what keeps the cup so clean and floral.

THE CUP
Exceptionally clean and abundantly floral: a floral bouquet leads, with lychee and blueberry fruit, bergamot, and a sencha tea finish.

About this variety

Coffees reported as Gesha or Geisha are often prized for a delicate, tea-like cup with lifted floral aromas and bright fruit. Jasmine, bergamot and peach are common reference points, but each lot can express them differently.

Why this one is different
  • Panama
  • Boquete
  • 2000 masl
  • Washed

Panamanian Geisha, especially well-traced T2722 grown at high altitude, is the classic reference for a very delicate, jasmine-led and peach-like cup.

Washed processing can make acidity and variety character easier to read, although fermentation and drying choices still matter.

Why the Gesha / Geisha name matters

Gesha and Geisha are interchangeable spellings, not proof of different varieties. The best-documented Panamanian Geisha descends from Ethiopian material recorded as T2722, while other coffees carrying either spelling may not be genetically identical.

Classification Reported Gesha / Geisha

Technical lineage The reported name alone does not establish one genetic lineage. Confirmed Panamanian T2722 traces to Ethiopian landrace material.

Variety is a guide, not a flavour guarantee. Lot notes are more specific.
