INTRO The first release from this year's fresh crop, and a banger — Karogoto factory has built quite the reputation for quality over the past few years, and this AA confirms why. Complex, fruity, and clean, with the punchy, juicy acidity classic Kenyan coffees are known for. Selected from a pool of over 400 coffees refined down to the 30 best. In the cup: lemon sorbet and peach.

THE PRODUCER Karogoto factory sits in Nyeri, Kenya, and has earned a reputation as a prolific producer of standout quality. Every year, the buying team travels to Dorman's coffee in Nairobi to taste through hundreds of cups and narrow down the season's selections — this AA cupped exceptionally well among an already strong field.

THE PROCESS This lot is Washed, a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying — letting SL28, SL34, Batian, and Ruiru's naturally juicy acidity and classic Kenyan complexity come through, building the lemon sorbet brightness and peach sweetness that define this cup.

THE CUP Punchy yet balanced — bright lemon sorbet acidity meets sweet peach and stonefruit depth, with florality woven throughout. Shines as filter, highlighting the florals and acidity, but equally a treat as a flat white, where steamed milk brings out its dessert-like sweetness. Classic Kenya: complex and sweet like only a Kenyan can be.
