Description
Uganda Bulambuli – SL14 & SL28
DAK's first coffee from Uganda - and a remarkable one. This natural anaerobic lot, made up of SL14 and SL28, brings just the right touch of funk while remaining clean and composed.
In the cup, expect rum, raisins, and tropical fruit.
Produced in collaboration with Ibero, this lot comes from Bulambuli in Eastern Uganda. Ibero established a new washing station here in 2022, where they handle pulping, fermentation, and drying. Around 200–400 smallholders deliver cherries to the station, with high-altitude farms contributing to quality and lower altitudes used strategically for drying under close supervision.
A strong debut for a region we’re excited to explore more.
Flavour Notes: Rum, Raisin, Tropical Fruit
We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
