INTRO Kenyan coffees are known for their acidity, and Gathaithi AA impresses here with the precision with which that acidity is drawn out. From Nyeri County, in the heart of Kenya's highlands, this coffee carries the signature clarity of Kenyan coffee — bright, juicy, and precise acidity. In the cup: redcurrant, sencha tea, and orange.

THE PRODUCER Produced by farmers of the Gathaithi Cooperative around the washing station of the same name, this coffee grows in an environment shaped by volcanic soils and the cool climate of Kenya's highlands. The cooperative today counts over 1,600 producers.

THE PROCESS This lot is Washed, a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying — allowing the varietal mix's naturally clear, precise acidity to shine through.

THE CUP Redcurrant arrives first, with the almost crisp acidity typical of small red fruits. The tasting then lengthens and becomes more delicate, as a sencha tea note brings elegance to the cup. Finally, orange takes its place, the acidity turning softer and juicier.
