Intro:

September is delighted to present Eyder Martinez Washed Caturra, a bright and expressive Colombian coffee crafted in partnership with the Cabildo Aponte community in Nariño. This light‑roasted filter lot highlights intensely sweet stone fruit character, zesty citrus lift, and delicate floral nuances, resulting in a vibrant cup that’s both refreshing and layered.

The Producer:

Eyder Martinez is a longtime collaborator with September and a biochemical engineer who influences both cultivation and processing alongside his work with El Paraiso. For this lot, he worked closely with the Cabildo Aponte community — a network of growers in Aponte — to produce a coffee that’s rooted in agricultural care and thoughtful post‑harvest handling at extreme elevations.

The Process:

This lot uses a traditional washed processing method that starts with meticulous hand‑sorting and depulping of ripe cherries. After fermentation, the beans are thoroughly washed to remove the mucilage and then dried with care to preserve acidity, sweetness, and clarity. The result is a coffee that delivers clean fruit expression and aromatic delicacy — ideal for light filter roasts.

The Cup:

In the cup, Eyder Martinez Washed Caturra showcases juicy stone fruits 🍑 up front, with a bright limeade 🍋 acidity that uplifts the profile and a silky texture that carries flavours beautifully. Subtle jasmine 🌸 floral hints give aromatic complexity that lingers on the finish, creating a balanced and expressive filter coffee that’s both joyful and refined.

Overall:

September’s Eyder Martinez Washed Caturra is a sparkling and nuanced Colombian filter coffee — marrying ripe fruit sweetness, citrus brightness, and gentle florals into a clean, engaging cup. Whether enjoyed as a morning pour‑over or shared with friends, this lot reflects both terroir and meticulous processing in every sip.

What is the roast recency?

September doesn't generally advertise a roast preference to Filter or Espresso, however, this is an exception and this particular bag is best enjoyed as espresso!

We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
