INTRO
The mythical Marageisha, a natural cross between Geisha and Maragogype that took place at Finca Villa Betulia in 2017. Elegant inherent aromas of coffee blossom and prickly pear lead, with a delicate green tea-like finish. In the cup: coffee blossom, prickly pear, and green tea.

THE PRODUCER
High in the lush mountains of Pijao, Quindío (1,800–2,100 masl), Jardines del Edén is an experimental farm where volcanic soils and cool mists nurture rare varieties such as Marageisha, Java, Papayo, and Mocha. Brothers Felipe and Carlos Arcila, founders of Cofinet, have made it a hub for innovation, working with low-impact polyculture and meticulous hand-picking while pioneering bold processes such as anaerobic fermentation, carbonic maceration, and long natural drying. The roaster's collaboration with the Jardines farms pairs their agricultural refinement with the farm's processing expertise and range of varieties, a living lab for small-batch research in which trials are co-designed, tested, and tweaked. The farm "can sound almost made-up," but stepping onto it shows it is the real deal.

THE PROCESS
This lot is Washed, a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying. The gentle washed process gives the cup a crisp, integrated acidity and a long, sweet aftertaste, letting Marageisha's inherent aromatics come through clearly.

THE CUP
Elegant and aromatic: coffee blossom and prickly pear lead, with a delicate green tea-like finish, a crisp integrated acidity, and a long sweet aftertaste.
