INTRO An exceptional Illubabor lot from partners at Gesha Village — bright, sparkling acidity carrying layered purple florals and zesty citrus, all resting on a delicate, tea-like body. Balanced and vibrant, a graceful expression of Ethiopia's wild genetic heritage. In the cup: jasmine, lavender, grapefruit zest, and black tea.

THE PRODUCER Gesha Village is owned by Adam Overton and Rachel Samuel, who selected the farm's location against strict standards — altitude, rainfall, temperature, fertile virgin forest soil, mature native trees, and an intact coffee ecosystem near the Gori Gesha Forest in remote western Ethiopia. This Illubabor lot showcases a distinct, disease-resistant cultivar grown alongside the farm's namesake Gesha, reflecting the region's exceptional genetic diversity.

THE PROCESS This lot is Washed, a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying, followed by 18 days on raised beds. This approach lets Illubabor's naturally bright, floral, and tea-like character come through with clarity, building the jasmine, lavender, and citrus notes that define this cup.

THE CUP Bright and sparkling — jasmine and lavender lead, with a zesty grapefruit acidity and a delicate black tea body throughout. Balanced and vibrant, a graceful showcase of Ethiopia's wild genetic heritage.
