INTRO From the Hacienda lot within Janson Coffee Farm, high in Panama's Chiriquí highlands — a clean, classic citrus-tea Gesha. Vita Lemon Tea sweetness leads, with hyacinth florality and the aromatic lift of Buddha's hand rounding out a bright, delicate cup. In the cup: Vita Lemon Tea, hyacinth, and Buddha's hand.
THE PRODUCER Janson Coffee was formally established in 1990, after the Janson family recognised the coffee potential of their land in the Chiriquí highlands. Today, Kai and Janette Janson, along with Miguel, continue that work. The plantations sit on the slopes of the Tisingal and Barú volcanoes, part of the Talamanca mountain range, with the broader farm spanning 1,350 to 1,700 masl. Individual lots are managed separately for traceability and quality control, with forested buffers between plantings and a dedicated processing plant supporting both washed and natural production.
Green Tip Gesha is a selection of the Panamanian Gesha variety, prized in specialty coffee for exceptional cup quality when carefully grown and managed at elevation — typically showing delicate florality, tea-like structure, and citrus clarity, all of which come through here as lemon-tea sweetness and floral lift.
THE PROCESS This lot was processed as a classic Washed coffee with a 48-hour fermentation before drying. After washing, it was sun-dried on patio for five days.
The 48-hour fermentation combined with the shorter patio drying window is the defining detail here — it preserves the lot's clean structure while supporting the syrupy, rounded texture that sits beneath the citrus-tea brightness.
THE CUP Bright and delicate — Vita Lemon Tea sweetness up front, hyacinth florality lifting through the middle, and the aromatic brightness of Buddha's hand on the finish. A syrupy, rounded texture and juicy finish round out this precise, classic washed Gesha.
