INTRO

Peru stunner of the season from Yulisa Carhuallocllo at La Miel — a Gesha of genuine complexity and layered depth. Bracingly citric pink grapefruit acidity opens the cup, before honeyed tropical sweetness gives way to a sublimely floral finish of osmanthus, jasmine, and honeysuckle. Challenging, superlative, and deeply rewarding.

Yulisa Carhuallocllo farms La Miel in Corazón de Chirinos — one of Peru's most promising specialty coffee regions. This lot comes to us through Falcon, and represents the kind of meticulous, producer-led work that puts Peruvian coffee firmly on the map alongside the best of Colombia and Ecuador.

THE PROCESS

Extended ferment washed — a controlled, prolonged fermentation period before washing that builds the layered floral complexity and bright citric acidity that define this lot, while keeping the cup clean, transparent, and beautifully structured.

THE CUP

Highly layered and endlessly complex — bitter citrus up front, honeyed florals through the middle, and a lingering jasmine and osmanthus finish that keeps evolving in the cup. Give it 40 days of rest and it opens into something truly extraordinary.
