INTRO Kenya season continues with this very interesting lot from Nyeri — a pretty floral presentation alongside more familiar tart fruited notes, with a tea-like finish keeping things interesting. Raspberry sherbert leads, with jasmine florality and a peach iced tea finish. In the cup: raspberry sherbert, jasmine, and peach iced tea.

THE PRODUCER This lot is delivered through Tegu Factory in Nyeri, Kenya, processing cherry from multiple smallholder farmers in the surrounding area, sourced through exporting partner Falcon Coffees.

THE PROCESS This lot is Washed, a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying — letting SL-28's naturally bright, tart acidity come through with floral clarity, building the raspberry sherbert and jasmine character that define this cup.

THE CUP Tart and floral — raspberry sherbert acidity up front, quickly moving into perfumed jasmine and tea-like notes, with an overall intensity that's large even for a Kenyan coffee. A juicy sweetness carries through a floral, tea-like body.
