INTRO From Hacienda La Esmeralda's El Vélo Farm, Aguila lot — the estate that put Panamanian Gesha on the world map. Layered and vivid, bergamot and jasmine florality intertwine with watermelon and blackberry sweetness, all lifted by a violet aromatic. THE PRODUCER Hacienda La Esmeralda needs little introduction. In 2004, the Peterson family won the Best of Panama competition with an exceptional Gesha — a variety previously unknown in the region — and in doing so reshaped the trajectory of specialty coffee entirely. The farm remains one of the most renowned in the world, instrumental in building Panama's global reputation for Gesha.
THE PROCESS Aguila 4 NC was harvested on February 16th, 2026, from the Aguila lot within El Vélo Farm. After harvest, cherries were dried for 44 days on raised beds inside a climate-controlled drying room — an indoor facility with constant airflow and precise temperature and humidity control.
This extended, climate-controlled 44-day drying is the defining step — it's what builds the remarkable layering of florals, watermelon sweetness, and blackberry depth that define this cup, letting Gesha's natural complexity fully develop under precise conditions.
THE CUP Layered and vivid — bergamot and jasmine florality intertwine with watermelon and blackberry sweetness, with a violet aromatic threading throughout. A precise, climate-controlled expression from the farm that started it all.
