Peanut Brittle
Sweet. Approachable. Unmistakably Brazil.
A classic single origin espresso from Brazil—roasted as part of the Storm Series with deeper development to suit everyday use. Designed to shine across a range of brew methods: flat whites, traditional espresso, or an easygoing filter.
In the cup: caramel, dark chocolate, and the unmistakable nutty sweetness of peanut brittle. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and long, lingering sweetness.
About the Cultivar
This lot comes from a cross between Mundo Novo and Caturra, developed by the Instituto Agronômico de Campinas (IAC) in São Paulo, Brazil. Known as Catuaí, this variety combines compact growth with high productivity—allowing for denser planting and efficient farm management.
Created in 1949 (initially labelled H-2077), Catuaí was officially released in 1972 after years of pedigree selection. It is widely grown in Brazil and known for its balance of vigor, manageable height, and versatility, though it remains susceptible to leaf rust. Available in both yellow and red cherry types, with several regional selections now established.
Selected by September for its reliability, sweetness, and crowd-pleasing character—this is an espresso designed to feel familiar, yet never dull.
Flavour Notes: Peanut Butter, Salted Caramel, Chocolate

What is the roast recency?
September doesn't generally advertise a roast preference to Filter or Espresso, however, this is an exception and this particular bag is best enjoyed as espresso!
We recommend brewing with beans that are at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
