The Unibasket

™ is fashioned from a single solid blank of stainless steel 1.2mm thick, with a much wider extraction area compared to traditional baskets. 

The Motivation behind Unibasket™

Traditional portafilters with baskets fashioned from stamped metal suffer from one thing; flex. When the basket flexes under pressure from your machine, the flow distribution focusses on the centre of the puck, creating an uneven extraction where the centre of the puck is over-extracted, and the outside of the puck left under-extracted. 

Unibasket works best with BUCK, the Naked Portafilter by Weber:

With BUCK, together with Weber's Unibasket™, uneven extraction resulting from flex is almost entirely eliminated.

Whilst BUCK can be used with traditional baskets, it is recommended to pair with Unibasket™ for the ultimate extraction uplift.

Unibasket™ Compatibility

Unibasket™ is optimised for use with the BUCK, however can be used with most other standard portafilters. Linea and Rocket standard portafilters can accept the Unibasket, however, the flow may catch on the bottom of the portafilter lip. It is declared here that if you have a Linea or Rocket machine, you accept this potential flaw.

Unibasket™ specifically does NOT fit portafilters by:

• ECM, Slayer, Gaggia, Rancillio, Sage/Breville, La Marzocco Linea Mini/Micro or KNODOS

To check your portafilter, we recommend looking at the graphic below to determine if the basket size you choose will fit your portafilter.

The size you need to check is the inner diameter of your portafilter at the 'pocket requested depth', if this is at least 61.5mm this will fit (but will be tight).
