INTRO

From the Pétalo Solar project in Tolima — a sustainably sourced, fully traceable, organic certified specialty coffee bringing together smallholder farmers from one of Colombia's most biodiverse and ideal growing regions. Traditional washed processing, volcanic soils, and a genuine commitment to community and sustainability in every cup. In the cup: red apple, orange zest, and dark chocolate.

THE PRODUCER

Pétalo Solar is a specialty coffee project born from a partnership between smallholder farmers in Tolima and InConexus de Café, an organisation dedicated to providing farmers with technical support, training, and access to international specialty markets while maintaining full traceability and environmentally responsible farming practices. Grown at high altitude in volcanic soils across one of Colombia's most biodiverse regions, the project reflects both the natural richness of Tolima and a genuine commitment to sustainable agriculture and rural community development.

Every farm in the Pétalo Solar network delivers coffee that meets Organic and EUDR standards — a commitment to transparency and responsibility that runs from the field to the dry mill, where the parchment coffee is hulled, sorted, and prepared for export following strict organic-compliant protocols.

Colombia and Castillo — both Cenicafé-developed varieties bred for disease resistance and consistent quality — provide the reliable, well-structured foundation that makes Pétalo Solar such an approachable and versatile everyday coffee. At 1,600–2,040 MASL in Tolima's volcanic landscape, they deliver the red apple and orange brightness and dark chocolate depth that define this lot.

THE PROCESS

The Traditional Washed process at Pétalo Solar involves:

🍒 Hand-picking — Only fully ripe cherries hand-picked and carefully selected before processing 🔧 Pulping — Cherries pulped before fermentation 💧 12–36 hour water fermentation — Beans fermented in water for 12 to 36 hours 💧 Thorough washing — Washed thoroughly after fermentation to remove all residue ☀️ Raised-bed sun drying — Dried on raised beds under the sun with constant monitoring to ensure even drying and consistent quality

The thorough washing and monitored raised-bed drying are the defining steps — by fermenting cleanly and drying with care, the process allows the natural character of Tolima's volcanic terroir and the Colombia and Castillo varieties to express themselves with the clarity, sweetness, and balance that define this cup.

THE CUP

A clean, balanced, and approachable washed lot from one of Colombia's most biodiverse growing regions — red apple brightness, orange zest freshness, and a dark chocolate warmth in a versatile, well-structured cup that works equally well as a filter or espresso. The Pétalo Solar project in every sip.
