This exceptional coffee is cultivated with passion by the Lamastus family on the celebrated Elida Estate, nestled between 1700 and 1950 metres altitude in the lush region of Boquete. Elevated by an innovative process combining two days of refrigerated anaerobic fermentation with slow drying, this grand cru reveals a cup of absolute complexity.

THE PRODUCER

Wilford Lamastus farms this lot at the renowned Elida Estate in Boquete, Panama, one of the country's most celebrated Geisha producers. The Lamastus family has long been at the forefront of Panamanian Geisha production, cultivating across a wide altitude range of 1700–1950 metres that gives them exceptional flexibility to develop distinct micro-lots. The "Loma" plot represents a distinctive terroir within the wider estate, scoring an impressive 91 points.

THE PROCESS

The ASD — Anaerobic Slow Dry process at Elida Estate involves:

  • 🍒 Cherry Selection — Careful picking at peak ripeness

  • ❄️ Refrigerated Anaerobic Fermentation — 2 days in a sealed, temperature-controlled, oxygen-restricted environment

  • ☀️ Slow Drying — Extended, careful drying to preserve delicate aromatics

This refrigerated anaerobic fermentation followed by slow drying creates the absolute complexity and vibrant fruit character that define this exceptional Geisha lot.

THE CUP

In the cup, this Geisha is elegant and captivating, opening with vibrant notes of wild berries, pomegranate, delicate rose, and passion fruit. The refrigerated anaerobic fermentation and slow drying combine to produce a cup of absolute complexity—a true grand cru expression from one of Boquete's most celebrated estates.

About this variety

Coffees reported as Gesha or Geisha are often prized for a delicate, tea-like cup with lifted floral aromas and bright fruit. Jasmine, bergamot and peach are common reference points, but each lot can express them differently.

Why this one is different
  • Panama
  • Natural

Panamanian Geisha, especially well-traced T2722 grown at high altitude, is the classic reference for a very delicate, jasmine-led and peach-like cup.

Natural processing often brings a rounder, fruit-led expression, which can make the same variety feel quite different from a washed lot.

Why the Gesha / Geisha name matters

Gesha and Geisha are interchangeable spellings, not proof of different varieties. The best-documented Panamanian Geisha descends from Ethiopian material recorded as T2722, while other coffees carrying either spelling may not be genetically identical.

Classification Reported Gesha / Geisha

Technical lineage The reported name alone does not establish one genetic lineage. Confirmed Panamanian T2722 traces to Ethiopian landrace material.

Variety is a guide, not a flavour guarantee. Lot notes are more specific.
