THE PRODUCER
This lot comes from Felipe Arcila at Jardines del Encanto in Quindío, Colombia, growing Red Gesha at 1,900 masl.

THE PROCESS
This lot is a Grade 1 Natural: cherries are dried whole, letting the fruit's sugars pass into the bean. This approach is what builds the peach and poached pear sweetness behind this cup, with Gesha's bergamot and floral aromatics on top.

THE CUP
Delicate and aromatic: peach and poached pear lead, with bergamot through the middle and soft florals on the finish. Roasted for filter.

About this variety

This variety is recorded for the coffee, but we do not yet have a reviewed typical cup profile for it. The tasting notes for this specific lot are the best guide.

Why this one is different
  • Colombia
  • Quindío
  • 1900 masl
  • Natural

Natural processing often brings a rounder, fruit-led expression, which can make the same variety feel quite different from a washed lot.

Growing conditions in Quindío at 1900 masl also shape ripening, sweetness, acidity and aroma.

A little background

This is the variety name supplied by the producer or roaster. We preserve that identification without inventing a genetic history.
