INTRO Prolog's second purchase from Danche Washing Station, after their first lot in 2022 (Sami Danche Øko). A vibrant cup with layered fruit sweetness, floral aromatics, and remarkable depth. In the cup: berry jam, violet, and milk chocolate.

THE PRODUCER Danche Washing Station sits in Chelbesa, Gedeb, owned by SNAP Coffee and working with around 400 smallholder farmers growing coffee on small farms at 2,000–2,300 masl. SNAP builds long-term relationships with producers through agronomic support, quality-focused purchasing, and ongoing training, helping farmers improve cultivation and processing while strengthening access to the specialty market. The coffee is produced under certified organic practices, supporting healthy soils and biodiversity while reducing reliance on synthetic inputs. SNAP also promotes waste recycling at its stations and invests in local communities through school equipment, road improvements, and planned healthcare facilities across the Gedeo region.

THE PROCESS This lot is a Natural, dried using the station's traditional raised-bed method — relying on sunlight and airflow rather than energy-intensive drying methods, in keeping with SNAP's broader sustainability commitments.

The traditional raised-bed drying is the defining step — it's what preserves the layered fruit sweetness and floral aromatics behind the berry jam and violet character that define this cup.
