INTRO From Julio Madrid at Finca La Riviera — the belle of the cupping table, season after season. This Advanced-process Geisha and Sudan Rume blend is delicate and elegant, built on jasmine florality and a fruit character not often found in a cup — peach tea, melon, and green grape woven through a lovely, refined profile. In the cup: jasmine, peach tea, melon, and green grape.

THE PRODUCER Julio Cesar Madrid directs the joint farms Finca La Riviera and Finca Milan, first cultivated by his ancestors over forty years ago. Alongside business partner Andres Julio Quinceno, Julio has dedicated himself to producing exceptional coffee through innovative, exacting processing — a partnership that continues to push what these historic farms are capable of.

THE PROCESS The Advanced process at Finca La Riviera involves:

🍒 Hand-picking — cherries selectively harvested at peak ripeness, then sorted for quality and density at the processing centre 🍑 Co-fermentation — placed in a temperature-controlled bioreactor alongside fermented peaches and pineapples, with a specially curated starter culture ⏱️ 36-hour fermentation — temperature manipulated throughout, with the musto regularly recirculated 🌑 Drying — dried in a dark, temperature-controlled room fitted with a dehumidifier, until optimal moisture content is reached

The co-fermentation with peaches and pineapples is the defining step — it's what builds the coffee's distinctive fruit character, layering peach tea and melon-like sweetness onto the variety's natural jasmine florality rather than relying on the beans alone.

THE CUP Delicate, elegant, and lovely — jasmine florality leads, with peach tea sweetness and unusual notes of melon and green grape rounding out a profile rarely found in the cup. A season-after-season favourite at the cupping table.
