The Black Mirror Basic 3 is Timemore's most advanced coffee scale yet — a ground-up redesign that's faster, slimmer, and smarter than its predecessor. At just 300g and 20mm thin, it packs a genuinely impressive feature set into one of the most compact footprints in its class.
The headline addition is Espresso Mode: place your cup, and the scale auto-tares, auto-starts the timer when flow is detected, and stops when you remove the cup — hands-free from first drip to final weight. For filter brewers, Pour-over Mode handles the same automation while adding a live coffee-to-water ratio display, so you can track your brew ratio in real time without any mental arithmetic. A third Standard Mode gives manual timer control with ratio and flow rate always available.
Accuracy is bolstered by a new advanced electromagnetic shield built into the chassis, protecting readings from magnetic catch cups and machine interference — a meaningful upgrade for espresso users. The in-house-developed pressure sensor achieves a minimum detectable weight of 0.2g, and accuracy of 0.1g up to 1kg.
Battery life is rated at 24 hours of continuous use — roughly 280 five-minute brews on a single charge — with USB-C charging taking around 3.5 hours. IPX3 splash resistance and a precision silicone gasket provide everyday protection against brew-side spills.
The included silicone pad is dual-function: raised edges keep your dripper stable during use, and flipped upside down it becomes a cradle for your portafilter when dosing.
