THE PRODUCER The coffee comes from the Peñas Blancas Coffee Processing Center in Acevedo, Huila — much more than just a processing station, it's a transformative social project aimed at improving local farmers' living conditions. Peñas Blancas gives small-scale producers access to modern infrastructure, technical training, and fair compensation, with centralised processing under expert supervision helping farmers achieve better prices and long-term economic stability.
This lot was processed by Nestor Lasso and Jhoan Vergara, two visionary producers focused on improving post-harvest processing in Acevedo. Nestor is a young innovator known for his expertise in experimental processing methods, while Jhoan brings extensive experience in farm management and post-harvest work.
THE PROCESS This Geisha was processed using the Natural (dry) method — cherries are sun-dried for several weeks after hand-harvesting, allowing fruity flavours to transfer directly into the beans while preserving purity and complexity. This gives the coffee a fuller body that brings out sweetness and juiciness while retaining Geisha's original delicacy.
THE CUP Sweet with pleasant, higher acidity — the juiciness of orange and lemon gummy bears combines with milk chocolate sweetness, for a light, balanced, refreshing cup.
