INTRO
September's third year working with Mullugeta Muntasha, and the second featuring a coffee in honour of his son Dege, who oversees most of the farming. The coffee has a mouthwatering acidity, a bright acidity with a long sweet finish and a silky body. In the cup: grape crush soda, blackberries, and rose water.

THE PRODUCER
In 2021 Mullugeta returned to Bursa and began processing coffee at his own drying station, Dawencho, where he won 2nd place in the Cup of Excellence for the Dawencho farmer group coffee and 6th under his own name. In 2022 four of the top ten CoE winners were his lots, including the top winner, Legesse Botola, Mullugeta's brother-in-law, who processed coffee at Mullugeta's washing station next to his farm.

JARC 74158 was approved for release by the Jimma Agricultural Research Centre in 1979, from the Metu Bishari selections taken from mother plants in the Metu woreda of the Illubabor zone. It was selected and propagated for high yield potential and resistance to coffee berry disease.

THE PROCESS
This lot is an Anaerobic Natural: cherries ferment in a sealed, oxygen-limited environment and dry whole. The page doesn't give further steps.

THE CUP
Bright and juicy: a mouthwatering acidity like grape crush soda, with blackberries and rose water, a long sweet finish, and a silky body.
