INTRO Benjamin Tunubalá is a third-generation producer from Mesopotamia, Inzá, carrying forward a coffee-growing legacy begun by his grandfather, Pedro, one of the region's early pioneers. This Pink Bourbon comes from La Aragona, Benjamin's three-hectare varietal project at 1,850 meters, where volcanic soils and high elevation contribute to exceptional clarity and complexity. Red apple and pear sweetness lead, with a black tea structure and toasted coconut depth. In the cup: red apple, black tea, pear, and toasted coconut.

THE PRODUCER Benjamin Tunubalá is a third-generation coffee producer from Mesopotamia, Inzá, in Colombia's Cauca region. His grandfather, Pedro Tunubalá, was among the pioneers who first began growing coffee in the hills surrounding Inzá, establishing a legacy Benjamin has carried forward for more than two decades. At 43, Benjamin has been producing coffee for 21 years. His newest project, La Aragona, is a three-hectare farm planted with distinctive varieties including Sidra, Tabi, and Pink Bourbon.

Benjamin is known throughout the community as both a leader and an important voice within the Asorcafé cooperative. Though naturally quiet, he's often the first to bring people together when important news needs to be shared, earning the trust and respect of producers throughout the region.

THE PROCESS This lot is Washed and Raised-Bed Dried — a method that removes the fruit before fermentation and drying, allowing Pink Bourbon's naturally clean, layered character to come through, built on La Aragona's volcanic soils and high elevation.

THE CUP Clean and layered — red apple and pear sweetness up front, a black tea structure running throughout, and a toasted coconut depth on the finish. A continued evolution of Benjamin's work at La Aragona and his family's coffee-growing legacy in Inzá.
