INTRO Moonwake's first time working with Pukamocco, and another reminder of the range coming out of Peru right now. Rather than intensity, this lot is defined by balance, clarity, and ease of drinking — a round pear sweetness up front, gentle pomelo brightness, and a sencha tea finish that lingers long after each sip. In the cup: pear, pomelo, and sencha.

THE PRODUCER Eusebia Rudas Camara was one of the first farmers to join the ValleInca farmers' association. She gives remarkable attention to her crops, following a strict fertilisation regimen and developing a complex irrigation system that draws on the natural streams running through her farm. The property takes its name, Pukamocco ("Red Hill"), from the native Pisonay trees that shade the coffee plants and blanket the farm in deep red when they bloom.

THE PROCESS This Typica lot is traditionally Washed — fermented for 36 hours, then slow-dried over 18 days. This extended, careful drying is what builds the clean, well-integrated fruit character and calm herbal finish that define the cup, without pushing the coffee toward sharpness.

THE CUP Balanced and clear — a round pear-like sweetness opens the cup, followed by a gentle, pomelo-like citrus character that stays clean rather than sharp. As it cools, the finish turns increasingly sencha-like, with a soft herbal quality that lingers — a calm, refreshing, and unusually distinctive expression of Typica.
