Intro:

DAK Coffee Roasters is pleased to present Nutcase, a bold and classic Brazilian espresso that highlights the best of what high‑altitude natural processing can bring. This lot from Jaguara Coffee in Mantiqueira de Minas combines expressive sweetness, rich body, and familiar dessert‑like character — making it an irresistibly smooth and satisfying espresso.

The Producer:

This coffee is sourced from Jaguara Coffee, longtime collaborators with DAK. Based in Cambuquira within the Mantiqueira de Minas region — a famed coffee‑growing area of Brazil — the team focuses on producing approachable yet exciting microlots. Their experience with natural processing here ensures the cherries develop full sweetness and syrupy texture before drying, traits that are especially inviting in espresso.

The Process:

Nutcase “lets the fruit do the talking,” with cherries fully dried in a natural process where the fruit remains on the bean throughout fermentation and drying. This method enhances sugar concentration and mouthfeel, resulting in a coffee that’s rich, plush, and intensely aromatic. In espresso form, the natural process brings syrupy body and deep sweetness that pairs beautifully with milk‑based drinks or a straight shot that still feels indulgent.

The Cup:

In the cup, Nutcase  delivers a classic Brazilian espresso profile with a specialty twist. Expect layered notes of praline 🍫, rich toffee 🍬, and crunchy cacao nibs 🥜, creating a profile that is both familiar and deeply satisfying. The sweetness and body are ideal for espresso extraction, giving a silky, rounded finish without harshness — perfect whether you’re pulling shots or crafting lattes and cappuccinos.

Overall:

DAK’s Nutcase is a joyful tribute to Brazil’s natural coffee natural sweetness and espresso‑ready balance. With its dessert‑like flavours, syrupy texture, and rich body, it’s a versatile espresso that feels comforting and indulgent while still showing the nuance specialty coffee lovers crave. Whether served straight or with milk, this lot offers a delicious and memorable espresso experience.
