Since 1969, three generations of the Vohora family have carefully nurtured and expanded the farm, developing coffees of remarkable quality and character. The farms sit high on the edge of the world-renowned Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bordering an indigenous forest, the land is shared with elephants, buffalo, lions, and smaller antelope. To protect this extraordinary ecosystem, large areas of bushland are preserved, and tree cover is maintained throughout the farms. The Vohora family is deeply committed to farming practices that minimise environmental impact whilst coexisting with the surrounding wildlife. All coffees are grown at altitudes between 1,600 and 1,850 metres, placing these farms amongst the highest in Tanzania. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 6-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12 - should we have any left in stock!). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans.
