It began in 1918, when Robert Louis Lamastus founded Elida Estate on the slopes of Volcán Barú; Amado Boutet established the family's roots in Boquete in 1925, and in 2014 Luito Lamastus planted a new generation of Gesha. Today the family farms five estates (Elida, El Burro, Luito Gesha, Cliff Gesha, and Trompo Gesha) across four microclimates, at up to 2,200 masl.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRoughly half of Elida Estate lies within Volcán Barú National Park, and the estate runs from about 1,670 to 2,200 masl.
